Finance CoreIQ

A finance platform built for the questions that come after the numbers.

Plan, report and understand the business in one governed workspace. CoreIQ connects finance data, models and processes so your team can build reports, manage plans, automate recurring work and investigate what drives results.

It can also help Finance tackle operational tasks and work with the business on its challenges. AI draws on controlled data and approved business context, while Finance stays in control of the outcome.

One place to plan, report and act

Finance needs more than a set of reports. It needs reliable data, a way to work through the detail, and processes that carry decisions into the next plan or forecast. CoreIQ is being built to bring those parts of the job together, so a question raised in a board pack can lead to an investigation, an explanation and a practical next step.

What you can do with CoreIQ

Build reports around the questions that matter

Bring financial and operational measures into dashboards and reports using consistent definitions. Shape a view yourself, or use AI to help build a draft that Finance can check before publishing.

Explore what drives performance

Move from a headline result into the relevant entities, departments, projects, products and transactions. Compare periods and follow the evidence behind a variance without rebuilding the analysis in separate spreadsheets.

Plan, model and manage scenarios

Bring actuals, budgets, forecasts and business drivers into connected planning processes. Work through assumptions and scenarios, capture inputs and approvals, and see how a decision could affect the financial outlook. The planning scope is agreed for each implementation.

Automate recurring finance and operational work

Use governed workflows to collect inputs, apply business rules and move work through review. CoreIQ can support processes that cross Finance and operations, including client-specific applications where a standard report or spreadsheet is not enough.

Investigate and draft with AI

CoreIQ can work through available detail, identify the main drivers of a result and prepare a draft explanation with supporting figures. Where approved business context is available, such as meeting notes or project updates, it can bring that into the investigation. Finance checks the evidence, adds its judgement and approves the final wording.

Give the team a shared place to work

Publish reports and organise work in a company workspace. People can start with the same definitions, access the information relevant to their role and follow a result from overview to detail.

Meet the CoreIQ Brain

The CoreIQ Brain connects financial results with what the business knows about them. The image below shows its knowledge map across Finance, Operations, Sales, People and other teams, alongside a searchable library of files and notes. Knowledge can be organised for the whole company, a workspace or an individual.

When Finance asks why a result changed, CoreIQ gets the figures from governed finance data. The Brain can then bring in relevant context the user is allowed to access, such as project updates, meeting notes, reporting definitions or operational issues. Together, these help Finance investigate the result and prepare an explanation grounded in both the numbers and what happened in the business.

Finance reviews the evidence and remains responsible for the final answer.

How it fits with your existing systems

CoreIQ can be introduced alongside an established finance environment. For Brydens BI clients using Calumo, an initial use case may draw on a controlled copy of trusted Actual and Plan data while Calumo remains the authoritative finance environment. Data sources, access and scope are agreed for each implementation.

CoreIQ can bring together information from SQL Server, ERPs, HR and operational systems, and spreadsheets. It can also work alongside existing reporting tools such as Power BI. Brydens BI helps connect and structure that information so reports, plans and analysis use consistent measures and definitions.

What this could look like at month-end

A P&L with 20 rows and 10 departments gives Finance up to 200 results to review and explain. Working through them one by one can take days.

Once the linked data is available, reports can refresh and CoreIQ can investigate variances across the pack. It prepares draft commentary using the supporting detail and prior months, and can consider meeting notes or other approved context where available.

The team starts with a pack and draft explanations ready for review, potentially within minutes of the data refresh. Finance can focus on challenging the findings, adding commercial judgement and signing off the final commentary.

And beyond the month-end pack

Suppose a project’s forecast margin is falling. Finance may need to bring together actual costs, commitments, progress, variations and the project team’s latest assessment to understand the cause. With those sources connected, CoreIQ can help surface the drivers, test the forecast impact and give Finance and the project team a shared basis for deciding what to do next. The detail available depends on the systems and information included in the implementation.

Why work with Brydens BI?

We design, implement, manage and support finance reporting, consolidation, budgeting and forecasting solutions. The same team that understands your data and business rules can help identify a useful first CoreIQ use case, connect it to your existing environment and support the people who use it.
